The Astra Start five-door hatchback starts at 31 890 euros including VAT. The Astra Sports Tourer Start starts at 33 390 euros, while the Astra Electric Start starts at 36 490 euros.
No. The Astra Electric Start supports V2L with output of up to 3.6 kW, but Opel classifies the required adapter as an accessory. Its availability and price should be confirmed when ordering.
On October 13, 2026, Opel announced the new Astra Start entry-level trim for the German market. The five-door hatchback now starts at 31 890 euros including VAT, while the Sports Tourer estate starts at 33 390 euros. The entry price for the electric Astra has fallen to 36 490 euros. Standard equipment still includes climate control, front and rear parking sensors, and two 10-inch screens.
How much has the price fallen?
According to Opel's official announcement on October 13, the introduction of Start reduced the entry price for the Astra family by 1 500 euros and the Astra Electric range by 1 900 euros. These are recommended retail prices for Germany, including VAT.
Version | Starting price | Reduction from the previous entry price |
|---|---|---|
Astra Start, five-door hatchback | 31 890 euros | 1 500 euros |
Astra Sports Tourer Start, estate | 33 390 euros | 1 500 euros |
Astra Electric Start, electric car | 36 490 euros | 1 900 euros |
The entry-level trim has become more affordable, not every Astra on sale. Comparisons with previous offers must take the engine, body style and equipment into account. The German price list also cannot automatically be applied to other countries.
What buyers get as standard
The Start standard equipment list includes:
six-way adjustable Intelli-Seat front seats;
automatic climate control;
front and rear parking sensors;
a 10-inch digital instrument panel;
a 10-inch touchscreen for the multimedia system;
Keyless Start;
Denim Blue metallic paint.

A detail not shown in the options list
The Intelli-Seat has a longitudinal recess in the central section of the cushion. In its April 15, 2026 material about the seats, Opel explains that the design was inspired by bicycle saddles and is intended to reduce pressure on the tailbone.

However, the Intelli-Seat name alone does not mean that the seats include massage, memory settings or electric lumbar support. Opel describes these features separately for more highly equipped seats. They should not be added to the Start standard equipment list.
Hybrid, diesel or electric?
The 31 890-euro starting price applies to the Astra Hybrid, which produces a combined 145 hp and 230 Nm of torque. It uses an electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The alternative is a 130-hp diesel with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Astra Electric Start produces 156 hp and 270 Nm. Start identifies the equipment level, so buyers must also check the type of powertrain.
A socket from the car: what the Electric can do
The Astra Electric Start supports V2L, allowing external devices to draw power from the traction battery. In its April 9, 2026 explanation of the technology, Opel specifies output of up to 3.6 kW and gives examples such as charging an electric bicycle or powering an electric grill or vacuum cleaner.
A special adapter is required for the connection. It plugs into the car's charging port and provides a household power socket. V2L support does not mean that the adapter is included in the vehicle price: Opel classifies it as an accessory. Its availability and price should be confirmed when ordering.

What costs extra?
The optional Komfort-Paket-Start package is available for the Start trim. It includes, among other features, Solar Protect glazing, an automatically dimming interior mirror and a centre armrest. For the Sports Tourer estate, the package also includes roof rails. The announcement does not disclose the package price.

This is where it makes sense to compare the final Start configuration with the next equipment level. Adding the options you need will change the difference between the trims. Such a comparison requires prices for cars with the same body style and engine.
What to check before ordering
Whether Start appears in your country's price list and whether its equipment matches the German version.
The final price of the selected engine, body style and optional packages.
Whether the V2L adapter is included in the dealer's offer if you choose the Electric.
The delivery time specified for the particular vehicle.
As of October 16, 2026, the Opel announcement reviewed here does not set a single Start price for all European markets or give a general delivery timeframe. The local price list remains the buyer's starting point: the German figures show how the offer has changed, but they do not replace a quotation for an order in your country.
